7.7           May 23           Alliance Education Fair, Piscataway. General membership meeting in Old Bridge, NJ

7.9           June 12           Alliance Orientation for Article 43 certification program.
7.10         June 13,14      With Unger, Bargaining for Monmouth Junction Unit.

8.0       Area Director Report- D. Duffy
8.1           Spoke with employees concerning AT&T layoff date window. Whitley says Union will be informed if cuts to be made.
8.2            Merilyn Anderson from the Alliance called ICW nationwide fiber optics course. Gave her list of potential students. I will be advised in Fall if/when class will be held.
                        8.3            Constantly working on medical payment changes.
                        8.4            Attended funeral of former co-worker.
                        8.5            Discussed Code of Conduct issues with Faranda and members.

9.0      Report submitted by L Unger.
9.1  April 26,27,28   Traveled and attended the AT&T shareholder’s meeting in San        Antonio, TX. Spoke to Labor Relations head Bill Blaze, Ed Whitacre and Andy Geiss.
9.2          April 20         Ad Hoc meeting.
9.3          May 1            Received certification of sign-up forms from the unit in Monmouth Junction, NJ from American Arbitration Association. Wrote to VP Maley requesting bargaining as soon as possible.  Spoke to Frank Leone on Alliance and Article 43 Certification issues. Spoke to Local in Boston about discipline for misuse of internet.
9.4         May 16           Andy Geiss visited the INCS center at Thomas St. Toured both floors. He met with myself, members Andrea Lupo, Mable Gadsden, Roger Siersma and Dick Woo to discuss why the office should be kept open as a separate office in NYC.
9.5        May 23          General membership meeting
9.6       Other activities:   Compiled and tallied bargaining surveys. Met with Naveira, Negron and Hodes on grievances and followed up. Worked on cleaning up office in preparation of move. Met with Whitley on turnover when I leave, etc.
                        9.7        May 29, 30     Took test for CWA Rep in Wash, DC
9.8        May 31            Was officially offered position of Staff Rep. In the C&T office. Submitted my resignation as President of Local.
                         9.9 Motion to receive, Whitley, second, Brett, carried.

10.0     Old Business
10.1    Brett reported on the successful completion of bargaining for the new unit in Monmouth Junction, NJ.
10.2   Whitley reported settlement of the ˝ day off for Christmas/New Year’s Eve in our favor.
                        10.3    Faranda reported on NLRB charges filed against the Local and Company.

11.0       New Business
                        11.1   Discussion of Article 43 and “out-of-region” techs.
                        11.2   Dates for Vice President election;
                                                Nominating period to end July 12.
                                                Ballots out by July 13
                                                Ballots due back and counted on August 7
11.3   Motion by Naveira, second, Duffy, to waive Local initiation fee for the new Monmouth Junction unit, carried.
11.4   Motion by Naveira, second by, Brett to honor Laura Unger’s long time service to Local 1150 by naming her “President Emeritus.” Unanimous.
12.0 Motion to adjourn, Naveira, second Faranda, carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:55 PM. Next meeting August 21.
