This is Vinny Whitley, President, CWA Local 1150. It’s Tuesday, May 13th at 11 a.m. The Company offered a VTP yesterday and this Local, the NYC INCS office, was given a cap of 20 Communications Technicians. Read the writing on the wall. They have been wanting to take this work and move it to White Plains for quite some time. If anyone is taking the package please inform the local. Also, I would also like to welcome our new production specialists from Middletown, NJ. They unanimously ratified their contract on May 7th. This is Vinny Whitley, President, CWA Local 1150. It is Tuesday, April 22nd at 10 AM. Members of the Executive Board attended the C&T Conference and the District 1 Conference where the message was clear that the upcoming election is very important to the Labor movement. We discussed how the current Republican NLRB and Court system has continued to rule in the favor of big business. We are within 1 year to the ATT Contract expiration and there is much to be done. There will be a lot of upcoming information regarding the November election and the contract expiration. We will begin a Strike Mobilization committee and we are rejuvenating our retired member’s council to gather in the retirees to help us fight to keep benefits. Benefits for members and retirees will be one of the large issues as well as job security, outsourcing, and more. We will be holding our annual NJ Members meeting on Wednesday, May 21st in South Brunswick, NJ. Please mark your calendars. There will be mush discussion on the upcoming contract negotiations and election. Please remember to continue to set aside some money every per pay period to prepare for the contract expiration. This is Vinnie Whitley, President CWA Local 1150. It’s Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 4 pm. Just some info regarding the CWA Joe Bernie Scholarship and AT&T Scholarship. The deadline for the AT&T Scholarship is tomorrow February 15th. The CWA Joe Bernie Scholarship deadline is March 31st. Good luck to all those who have entered. Again theCWA bargained for APA performance award will be paid out on Feb 29, 2008. Each eligible employee will receive $878, less of course tax and union dues. This is Vinny Whitley, President CWA Local 1150. It’s Tuesday, Jan 1st, 2008 at 8 PM. First, I want to wish everyone a healthy, happy, and safe New Year. Speaking of the New Year, this one’s going to be a busy one. We have elections for the National Union in June, elections for this Local in the fall and we will elect a new President of the United States in November 2008. In April of 2009, our contract with AT&T will expire. It’s not too early to start planning for the worst, a STRIKE. If you can, start putting some spare money on the side. Do it, plan for it! Don’t let this take you by surprise! The local will also be looking for members who want to be mobilizers. That job means to coordinate activities in this local as well as other locals nationally. We will also request the assistance for our retirees to help on this issue. As I said it will be a busy year but together and in unity, we will get it done. Thank you for calling.

This is Vinny Whitley, President CWA Local 1150. It’s Monday, December 3, 2007 at 10:30 PM. Vice President, Nancy Brett, and myself will be attending the AT&T National Bargaining Council meeting on Saturday, December 8th through Tuesday, December 11th in St. Louis, MO. There will be a general session and breakouts by contract. Also, the Locals Holiday Party will be on Thursday, December 13th at the Local, 6 Harrison Street, lower level from 12 noon to 4 PM. All members and retirees are welcome.
